Basically, this big mess of a system pulling north would be responsible for a bunch of rain and some snow! Dynamic cooling aloft from height falls and modified cold air being sucked in would allow freezing levels to fall throughout the night eventually allowing the cold rain to turn into a very wet snow by morning in the Toronto suburbs.

This is one of those things... those things that happen between November and March, but not in April!

This was the single band responsible for all the snow in the morning. It started out as rain but by the time it was leaving Toronto it had already changed into a mix of wet snow and rain.

This was taken in the northern half of Woodbridge, elevation here is around 230 meters, so it was high enough to really help the snow to get down to the surface.

The snow at this point was still mixed with a fair bit of rain and not really sticking.

The rain/snow band slowly changed more and more into snow and the intensity of the snow actually started to get up there in the dBz range.

You can see the snowflakes hitting the ground and melting away. It was at this point that the snow began to slowly get the upper hand and started to stick.

The first thing to really show the snow sticking was the shopping cart shelter.

Vehicles were the next items to really have the snow stick to them. You can also see it's starting to stick to the wet parking lot.
