Ironically, this was day two chasing on the same road Jen and I started out on the day before. I stopped to get this photo, the land in this area was amazingly flat, treeless and flat. This was on Highway 26 near the Kingsley Dam which was about 10 miles to my northeast.

A little further up the road we passed this grass fire that was supposed to be a controlled burn near the town of Oshkosh.

Coming from Southern Ontario we have hills, cliffs and all sorts of neat geography based around the last glacial period. But everything is basically the Canadian Shield in some shape or form. Nebraska has it all, low lands, high plains, cliffs, bluffs and neat rock outcroppings. So the geography alone was very fascinating at times.

This was near Lisco, it was amazing how the land was flat and then just suddenly rose into the sky.

The Chimney Rock is national state symbol of Nebraska. If you look at the state flag, welcome signs and the like it, it's right there! This rock monument has probably seen some amazing weather and it's still standing despite slowly being eroded away by the effects of weathering.
