Driving up the road was a cautious act, there was no way of know what or who lay ahead.

Sun Dog

The constantly present Sun Dog aura was beautiful and very surreal.

This was a common site, except most vehicles were abandoned. I stopped and helped to attempt to tow this pickup out of the ditch. Sadly it was just too deep and would need to wait for a larger vehicle or a tow with a rotator arm.

Plows had a hard time keeping up and many roads were eventually swallowed by the relentless blowing snow. I started down this particular road and then stopped when I realized I was at risk of getting stuck. In these conditions, getting stuck is life threatening.

The snow and glare was causing havoc with my cameras metering, I had to check each photo and even resort to live display at times to get it right!
