Here is the 21Z synoptic analysis. These are the conditions which gave rise to the afternoon storms.
We started the day off Ogallala and visited this "Mansion On The Hill" historic site.
There was a school house on the property of the Mansion, it was decked out as it would have been at the turn of the century.
Of course, for some strange reason, this site was closed in the summer... when all the tourists are out naturally.
Jen was fascinated by the school and kept peaking in the windows to see more.

This was the next site on the agenda.
We literally had a few hours to kill and this site was also in Ogallala so it was perfect to visit.
An 1870's style cowboy monument on Boot Hill.
Boot Hill is one of the higher points in Ogallala, and aside from being a cemetery on a hill, it's actually also a great lookout over the town.
Jen and I stopped for a little bit to eat at this cool Barn Café on Ogallala's main street.
These stores, complete with a free museum, had some cool old western store fronts.
