Working in the news industry, I’ve been presented with a constant stream of spot news among my general assignments. Here’s a small sampling, a tiny portion, a mere blip of some of the spot news stories that I’ve been a witness to.

Heavy smoke billows from a retrofitted early 20th century brick & mortar factory turned warehouse
Drivers stand outside their vehicles and observe a multicar collision ahead where one woman was killed and a man seriously injured
Emergency crews were called to an apartment building near Jane St and Sheppard Ave W, where they found an apartment unit on the 4th floor fully engulfed. A female victim suffering smoke inhalation and a dog were rescued from the unit.
The dog, initially lethargic and barely breathing was slowly brought back around as Toronto Fire crews fed the animal oxygen and massaged its chest.
The dog and female victim are expected to make a full recovery.

August is Caribana season! I like Caribana, most people don't seem to understand that it's about having a good time and enjoying Soca/Calypso music. Toronto still holds the title for the biggest North American festival of its kind.
Kathleen Wynne assumed the office of Premier of Ontario February 11, 2013 but prior to March she was not seen out and about too much. Through March and April I was asked to attend more agricultural meetings than I can count with Kathleen gracing each and every meeting, after all she is the Minister of Agriculture and Food.
